AAP’s Sanjay Singh Advocates Prayer and Fasting in Jail for Democracy

Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Member of Parliament, Sanjay Singh, currently in custody, has announced his intention to offer prayers to Bharat Mata’s idol within the confines of the jail. Additionally, he plans to observe a fast every Friday as a symbolic act of unity and resolve in the fight to protect the nation’s democracy. Singh, a senior leader of AAP, conveyed a powerful message urging people of all castes and religions to join in praying to ‘Bharat Mata’ and observing a weekly fast.
In his message, Singh emphasized the need for a collective resurgence akin to historical movements like JP’s to address the challenges of inflation, unemployment, misrule, and tyranny that have impacted the nation. He asserted that the struggle for democracy extends from the streets to the jails and draws strength from the blessings of Mother India, who represents not just a mother but also a source of fortitude.
Following Singh’s message, AAP has announced plans to organize fasting programs across the country, including Uttar Pradesh, in support of this initiative. Every Friday, AAP workers in all districts of Uttar Pradesh will participate by offering prayers to Bharat Mata’s idol and observing fasting.
The AAP, in a statement, accused the central government of being apprehensive about the growing popularity and public welfare initiatives of the party. Despite the arrest of AAP leaders, including Sanjay Singh, on what they claim are false charges, the party alleges that these attempts to impede its progress have been unsuccessful. Singh, even from jail, remains dedicated to social causes, studying the works of great revolutionaries and actively contributing to the ongoing fight for democracy.
