While the character initially appears focused on his appearance, Ali aimed to delve deeper, turning Guddu into a multi-dimensional personality.
During a candid roundtable discussion with Zoom, Ali reflected on the initial emphasis on the character’s looks. Acknowledging the common tendency to prioritize aesthetics, he expressed his desire to break away from the superficial focus and invite the audience into Guddu’s complex psyche.
“Like Mirzapur, I thought… At first, everybody is about looks. Like how we should look. And my biggest thing was, I want to run away from that and pull people into this guy’s head. It’s always fun when you are in my little toy land. Then, I can play. Then, I’m having fun,” Ali shared, highlighting the joy he finds in exploring and portraying the intricacies of a character beyond mere physical appearances.
