An ongoing anti-terrorist search mission along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Mendhar sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district has entered its second day, according to officials on Saturday.
Launched across nearly a dozen forward villages in the forested regions of Mankote and Mendhar on Friday, the operation is a response to reports of suspicious movements in the area.
While intermittent gunfire was reported from the Uchhad forest, authorities later clarified that the security forces had opened fire as part of efforts to clear a natural cave. As of the latest reports, the search operation is actively progressing in the region.
