Ayodhya braces for construction boom and influx of engineering jobs
The construction of the iconic Ram Mandir and transformation into a bustling tourism hub is set to spark an engineering jobs bonanza in the historic city of Ayodhya. Industry experts predict civil engineering roles will see at least a 15 percent spike in demand over the next two years.
As Prime Minister Modi prepares to inaugurate the temple on Saturday, the swelling construction activity is expected to unleash broad economic growth. Ayodhya is rapidly emerging from a sleepy temple town known mainly for religious pilgrims and coaching centers into a rapidly developing travel destination filled with new hotels, restaurants and shopping areas.
Early indicators point to explosive potential for construction sector jobs. Staffing firm CIEL HR found 22 percent of current openings are engineering positions like MEP managers, site supervisors and civil engineers. The temple’s completion will likely spur a threefold jump in building across hospitality, retail and infrastructure.
The impending boom illustrates Ayodhya’s status as a symbol of Hindu cultural renewal as well as an engine for Uttar Pradesh’s economic advancement. For engineers, it represents a wealth of job creation centered around the resurrected temple city.
