Ayodhya-Darbhanga Amrit Bharat Express Inaugural Run Witnesses 1,200 Passengers, Including Schoolchildren

In a celebratory inaugural run, approximately 1,200 passengers, predominantly holding “souvenir passes,” embarked on the first journey of the Ayodhya-Darbhanga Amrit Bharat Express, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday. Issued free of charge by the Northern Railway, these passes included schoolchildren, teachers, and other enthusiastic participants.
The Ayodhya-Darbhanga Amrit Bharat Express was one of the two Amrit Bharat and six Vande Bharat trains flagged off by the Prime Minister, mainly through virtual means, from the Ayodhya Dham Junction at 12:15 pm. Earlier in the day, Modi inaugurated the redeveloped railway station at a cost of Rs 241 crore.
Many students on board the Ayodhya-Darbhanga Amrit Bharat Express shared their excitement, stating that they traveled from Gorakhpur to Ayodhya to be part of the historic inaugural run. Describing their journey, one student mentioned the cleanliness of the train, noting features like a mobile holder and a foot-operated water tap in the toilet. Comparing it to their morning journey, students expressed that the ride was smoother.
Among the passengers were not only schoolchildren but also railway employees, journalists, and security personnel. Aditya Kasaudhan, a 17-year-old student selected for the inaugural trip based on academic performance and communication skills, shared the experience of being one of the 48 students out of 4,000 chosen for this special journey.
The second Amrit Bharat Express to be inaugurated will operate between Malda town and the Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminus (Bengaluru). Additionally, various Vande Bharat trains were flagged off, enhancing rail connectivity across different routes in India.
