Chennai Gears Up for the Grand Stage: Third Global Investors Meet Set to Woo Business Tycoons

Chennai is on the brink of hosting the much-anticipated third edition of the Global Investors Meet (GIM) on January 7th and 8th, 2024, as it extends a warm welcome to global investors and prominent industrialists.

Tamil Nadu (TN) is positioning itself strategically to attract investors, facing formidable competition from states like Karnataka, Telangana, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra. Notably, TN’s GIM precedes the Vibrant Gujarat summit scheduled between January 10-12.

In a concerted effort to entice investors, Tamil Nadu has adorned the roads leading to the GIM venue at Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam, creating an inviting ambiance for the anticipated delegates.

This marks the third installment of the GIM in the state. The inaugural edition in 2015, led by then Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, witnessed the signing of 98 memorandums of understanding (MoUs), projecting potential investments exceeding ₹2.42 lakh crore. In 2019, GIM-II, during the tenure of Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, saw the signing of 304 MoUs, indicating potential investments totaling ₹3,00,431 crore.
