Congress Gears Up for Pre-Lok Sabha Elections Meeting on Poll Strategy and Bharat Nyay Yatra

In anticipation of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Congress high command has convened a crucial party meeting to deliberate on election preparations, seat allocation, and the commencement of Bharat Nyay Yatra, scheduled to kick off on January 14, 2024. The meeting, to be held at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters in New Delhi, will bring together state presidents, general secretaries, state in-charges, and legislative leaders of the Congress party. Key figures such as Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and KC Venugopal will be present to contribute to the discussions.

Mallikarjun Kharge, the Congress chief, will preside over the meeting, focusing on assessing the groundwork for the upcoming elections and formulating strategies to counter the BJP-led NDA in the 2024 general elections.

This gathering is significant against the backdrop of the ongoing deliberations within the INDIA alliance, comprising 28 parties, striving for a consensus on seat distribution. Following the Congress’ setbacks in states like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh, senior leaders within the alliance propose maintaining the existing seat arrangements. Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has advocated for preserving the status quo regarding seats held by the current MPs of the INDIA bloc and their respective parties in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
