Delhi Airport Experiences Flight Diversions Amidst Dense Fog
On Sunday morning, seven flights faced diversions at the Delhi airport due to adverse weather conditions, as reported by an official source. The challenging weather conditions, marked by a blinding layer of fog, prompted the diversion of six flights to Jaipur and one to Mumbai. The period between 4:30 am and 7:30 am witnessed these diversions.
Delhi, along with other parts of North India, encountered near-zero visibility, with a dense fog cover impacting travel. The Palam Observatory near the Indira Gandhi International Airport reported visibility levels plunging to zero meters by 5 am. In response, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued advisory warnings, urging people to avoid unnecessary travel and exercise caution while driving in these challenging weather conditions.
