Dense Fog Forecasted Across Northern India Till January 30, Rise in Minimum Temperatures Expected

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a projection indicating the likelihood of dense to extremely dense fog conditions across a significant portion of Uttar Pradesh and isolated areas of Rajasthan until January 30. These conditions are expected to prevail during nighttime and morning hours.

As per the IMD, similar foggy conditions may persist in certain areas of Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh until tomorrow, and in Bihar until January 30. Isolated regions in Bihar may continue to experience cold weather through Tuesday, while specific areas in Uttar Pradesh may encounter similar circumstances until the following day.

Uttarakhand, too, may witness cold day weather in isolated areas until tomorrow, according to the weather agency’s forecast. Additionally, the IMD has predicted a rise in minimum temperatures by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius across many parts of Northwest India over the next four to five days.

While these weather conditions persist, concerns have been raised about the air quality index in Delhi. In the early hours of January 28, the air quality index in Delhi’s Anand Vihar region was recorded at 357, categorized as “extremely bad.” The combination of foggy conditions and air quality concerns underscores the need for residents to exercise caution and stay updated on weather advisories during this period.
