Fissures deepen in INDIA Bloc as BRS Leader hints at third front led by KCR
The INDIA bloc faces the prospect of further divisions, with Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) leader KT Rama Rao (KTR) hinting at the formation of a third front. The envisioned third front is anticipated to be spearheaded by the party’s chief and former Chief Minister of Telangana, K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR).
It is noteworthy that KCR had previously explored the idea of a third front before the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, eventually retracting in response to a lukewarm reception.
This development follows the recent declarations by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, both announcing their intention to campaign independently in their respective states during the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
While the INDIA bloc is currently grappling with internal disputes, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi sought to foster unity in the alliance. In response to the announcements from Bengal and Punjab chief ministers, Gandhi emphasized, “The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the RSS are spreading hatred, violence, and injustice. So, the INDIA formation is going to fight ‘anyay’ together,” during his address at the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.
