Indian Navy Launches Investigation After Halting Pirate Hijack Attempt in Arabian Sea

Indian Naval forces have initiated an inquiry into suspected vessels in the North Arabian Sea as part of efforts to trace the pirates involved in an attempted hijacking of a merchant vessel. The targeted ship, MV Lila Norfolk, registered under the Liberian flag, faced an alarming situation when pirates attempted to hijack it with 21 crew members on board, including 15 Indians.

Acting promptly, the Indian Navy successfully thwarted the hijacking attempt on Friday, ensuring the safety of all crew members. The bulk carrier’s crew is currently occupied with restoring essential systems, including the propulsion system, power supply, and steering gear.

The Navy, in a statement, mentioned that once the necessary repairs are completed, MV Lila Norfolk will resume its journey to the intended destination under the escort of an Indian naval warship. The investigation into the suspected vessels in the North Arabian Sea aims to identify and take action against those responsible for the piracy attempt.
