Iste 2026: Enhancing education with AI-driven tools for teachers and students
The core of effective teaching lies in the bond between educators and their students. As technology advances, the aim is not to replace this connection but to enhance it. For this reason, we develop tools that empower teachers to take the lead while providing students with personalized support to thrive.
Here’s an overview of the latest innovations being introduced across Google Classroom, Chromebooks, and Gemini to assist educators and learners.
Supporting teachers in time management and student guidance
Today marks the launch of a new Classroom app within Gemini, designed to assist educators with daily teaching tasks by securely utilizing their real class context. In the upcoming months, there will be an expansion of AI-driven activities in Google Classroom that are led by teachers. These activities are aligned with school curricula and offer clear insights into students’ understanding, enabling teachers to provide better support. Additionally, to help students stay focused on their work, new Guided Learning features are being introduced to Chromebooks to minimize digital distractions.
Providing students with tailored study resources
To aid in exam preparation, we are launching Study notebooks within Gemini. These notebooks generate personalized lessons and quizzes that adapt as students progress. Currently, they are being rolled out to personal Google Accounts and will soon be available for school-issued accounts. Furthermore, we aim to make standardized test preparation more accessible by partnering with organizations like The Princeton Review to provide free practice tests for the ACT and GRE in the coming months.
Assisting schools with AI integration
Recognizing the need for schools to navigate these new technologies, we are offering support through the Google Educator Series, which will deliver AI training to every educator in the U.S. Additionally, we are financing aiEDU to aid Title 1 school districts in crafting AI readiness plans. Funding is also being provided to ISTE+ASCD to research and enhance the use of AI in student assessments.
