Matt Henry returns in five-match T20I Series against Pakistan
Pace bowler Matt Henry is poised to make a highly anticipated return to the cricketing scene as he gears up for the upcoming five-match T20I series against Pakistan. The fast bowler, who faced a setback with a hamstring injury during the World Cup in India two months ago, will be putting his fitness to the test this Friday at the Super Smash tournament, representing the Canterbury Kings before rejoining the national side next week.
The 13-man squad for the series is captained by Kane Williamson, making a return to the T20I format. Originally slated to play in the T20Is against Bangladesh, Williamson was carefully withdrawn from the series as a precautionary measure to manage his workload. In a pre-arranged strategy, he will sit out the third T20I in Dunedin, with Mitchell Santner taking over the captaincy for that match.
