Moderate Fog Blankets Delhi, Minimum Temperature at 8.9°C: IMD

Delhi woke up to a morning shrouded in moderate fog on Saturday as the minimum temperature settled at 8.9 degrees Celsius, marking a two-notch rise above the season’s average, as reported by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The visibility at Safdarjung, the primary weather station in Delhi, and Palam was recorded at 500 meters at 5:30 am, according to the IMD. The relative humidity reached 100 per cent at 8:30 am, contributing to the foggy conditions.
Train services experienced delays due to the fog, with 14 Delhi-bound trains being affected, as confirmed by officials. Additionally, Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 315, falling into the ‘very poor’ category at 9 am, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board.
It’s worth noting that an AQI between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 and 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 and 200 ‘moderate’, 201 and 300 ‘poor’, 301 and 400 ‘very poor’, and 401 and 500 ‘severe’.
