Samsung Medison Enhances Women’s Health Diagnostics with HERA Z10 Ultrasound

Samsung Medison has introduced the HERA Z10, a premium obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) ultrasound system, complementing its flagship HERA Z20 and completing the HERA Z Series lineup.

With a global rise in maternal age and pregnancy-related complications, precision imaging in prenatal diagnostics has become crucial. Women’s health diagnostic tools are now advancing beyond fundamental fetal evaluations to include early complication predictions and comprehensive maternal health assessments.

At the 34th International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG) World Congress in London from September 4 to 7, Samsung Medison introduced its vision for next-generation diagnostic solutions under the theme “HERA Z, The Flagship Series.” This series is designed as a unified platform encompassing the full spectrum of women’s healthcare.

Advanced AI Workflows and Imaging Technology

The HERA Z10 integrates the AI-based workflow solutions of the HERA Z20, featuring advanced beamforming technology to enhance image clarity. This addition allows healthcare institutions to select from a more adaptable range of premium systems tailored to their specific clinical settings.

Key features of the HERA Z10 designed to enhance clinical workflows through artificial intelligence include:

  • Live ViewAssist: According to collaborative research with Professors Giuseppe Rizzo and Daniele Di Mascio of Sapienza University of Rome, this feature reduces scan times by up to 52% during mid-trimester ultrasound examinations.
  • EzStructure: Cuts manual manipulations for key measurement parameters by up to 71%, thus improving measurement consistency and reducing clinician fatigue.

Enhanced AI Capabilities for High-Risk Pregnancies

The system introduces advanced AI-supported diagnostic capabilities for handling complex clinical situations:

  • MV-Flow 3D: Captures microvascular blood flow with high resolution, crucial for managing high-risk pregnancies and diagnosing conditions such as placenta accreta.
  • FibroidVue: Employs AI to segment, visualize, and measure the uterus and fibroids, streamlining clinical assessments.

During the ISUOG Congress, Samsung Medison showcased the HERA Z Series’ key advantages through interactive experience zones. The “ART OF ULTRASOUND” theme included an AI digital art exhibition, drawing significant interest. Additionally, Samsung Medison demonstrated a digital solution using Galaxy Tab devices, enabling seamless monitoring of fetal growth records.
