Samsung Showcases Human-Centered Design at Seoul Design Week 2026

On October 15, 2026, Samsung Electronics inaugurated its exhibition titled ‘Design is an Act of Love’ at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul. This exhibition forms part of the larger Seoul Design Week 2026, a premier event in Korea’s design landscape, running until October 25.

Collaboration with Italian Design Institutions

In collaboration with POLI.design, a renowned Italian design education institution, Samsung engaged 14 teams comprising emerging Italian artists. The artworks presented in the exhibition celebrate themes of human diversity and individuality, resonating with Samsung’s design philosophy, which emphasizes empathy and user-centricity. The 14 pieces of art, inspired by Samsung’s product lines, are displayed on the Samsung OLED TV model S95H, each equipped with custom-designed frames.

Artistic Interpretations of Technology

Samsung Newsroom provided insights into how everyday products such as the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Music Studio 5 have been artistically reimagined. The exhibition space, filled with artworks, offers creative interpretations spanning across mobile devices, home appliances, and televisions.

  • ‘We’re All(One) in This Together’ by Lila Carugati, featuring the Galaxy Z Fold8
  • ‘From Dot to Signal’ by UNOLAB, featuring Music Studio 5

Samsung’s Design Philosophy

Mauro Porcini, President and Chief Design Officer (CDO) of the Device eXperience (DX) Division at Samsung Electronics, articulated the company’s design ethos: “Design, at its core, is an ‘act of love’ — deeply understanding and caring for people. We will pursue design that embraces individual diversity and brings warm emotional value to our lives.”

Continued Commitment to Innovative Design

Following its participation in Design Miami Seoul 2026 in September, Samsung continues to advance its commitment to human-centered design through participation in prominent design events like Seoul Design Week 2026. Looking forward, the company plans to further challenge creative boundaries by integrating artistic imagination and technological innovation in novel ways.
