Spy Thriller ‘Alpha’ Faces Box Office Challenge With 50% Drop, Reaches ₹51.50 Crore Mark in India

Alpha, the adrenaline-pumping spy thriller starring the dynamic duo of Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, experienced a bumpy ride at the box office as it faced a steep 50% revenue dip on its second Monday. This action-packed film, under the helm of director Shiv Rawail, added a modest ₹65 lakh to its earnings, pushing the second week’s total to ₹6.35 crore nett over four days.

Despite its thrilling narrative and star power, this ambitious entry into the YRF spy universe amassed ₹51.50 crore nett across India so far. As the film edges toward the weekend, expectations are set for it to rake in another ₹8 to ₹9 crore, aiming for a total haul of around ₹55 crore.

The current trajectory hints at a final tally somewhere between ₹60 and ₹65 crore nett. While Alpha is poised to outshine recent female-led cinematic ventures, the film’s costly production budget suggests that these figures might not spell a blockbuster success. The journey of female-led action films in India has often been a challenging one, making Alpha a daring gamble right from the onset.
