West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s Plans Altered as Doctors Advise Rest Following Shoulder Procedure
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s upcoming week’s agenda underwent a shift as doctors advised her to rest following a minor medical procedure on her right shoulder, an official revealed on Sunday.
Originally slated to participate in a TMC program at Netaji Indoor Stadium on January 2, Banerjee’s schedule also included a visit to Sagar Island in South 24 Parganas on January 3 to oversee preparations for the Gangasagar Mela. Additionally, she was set to chair an administrative meeting in Joynagar the following day.
Due to doctors’ recommendations for rest after a “small operative procedure” on her right shoulder at SSKM Hospital on Friday, Banerjee’s engagements have been postponed. The official noted that minimizing movements will contribute to her swift recovery.
The rescheduling of these programs is anticipated for the upcoming week, with finalized dates yet to be confirmed, as per the official. Among the postponed events, Banerjee was also slated to virtually inaugurate four police stations in Bhangar, South 24 Parganas district, on Tuesday. These police stations were recently brought under the jurisdiction of the Kolkata Police.
