Apple’s $3,499 AR Headset Goes on Sale from Feb 2 in US

Apple has announced its highly-anticipated augmented reality headset, Vision Pro, will debut in the United States on February 2nd with a starting price tag of $3,499.

Customers in the US can begin pre-ordering the advanced mixed reality device on January 19th at 5AM PST via Apple’s online store. The launch comes just months after Apple first unveiled Vision Pro in June 2022.

With its premium Vision Pro, Apple is taking direct aim at metaverse market leader Meta Platforms in the race to make augmented and virtual reality headsets mainstream.

Apple is betting features like precise head and eye-tracking, spatial audio and computer vision capabilities will make Vision Pro the world’s “most advanced and powerful” device yet for experiencing new immersive worlds.

The tech giant will be eager to see if that pitch resonates with consumers when Vision Pro lands in US markets next month carrying a substantial $3,499 base price.
