Agricultural stakeholders convened at the Agricultural Science Centre in Alirajpur for a coordination meeting, with Dr SRK Singh, Director of the Agricultural Technical Application Research Institute in Jabalpur, emphasizing the imperative need for collaborative efforts to integrate employment opportunities with agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry in Alirajpur district. Dr Singh advocated for the infusion of advanced technology into agricultural practices to boost productivity.
The meeting underscored objectives such as elevating crop production, promoting millet grains, and refining marketing strategies. Dr Singh also emphasized the significance of creating supplementary livelihood activities through agriculture, animal husbandry, and horticulture.
A pivotal point of discussion centered around establishing a ‘Milk Village’ in Alirajpur district, recognizing the region’s vast potential and demand for milk production. Dr Singh highlighted the importance of tailored efforts and strategies to support this initiative, emphasizing the need to engage farmers and youth in crop and fruit-based product production and marketing in the area.
