Kent RO sets sights on US Market, Rs 2,000 crore revenue
Homegrown water purifier manufacturer Kent RO Systems plans to enter the lucrative US market next fiscal year through a licensing partnership with American toolmaker Black & Decker. The ambitious move is part of Kent’s goal to reach Rs 2,000 crore in revenue within three years.
Kent Chairman & MD Mahesh Gupta stated the company will manufacture its water purifiers in India under the Black and Decker brand name for export to the United States under a recently inked agreement.
The fast-growing appliances maker has invested Rs 500 crore on expansion over the last three years and intends to invest another Rs 300 crore to set up a new fan factory in Uttar Pradesh. Kent, previously focused on water purifiers, is now diversifying into small kitchen appliances and expects new product categories to make up half of total revenues going forward.
The US expansion and broader product range are key planks of Kent’s plans to triple revenue to Rs 2,000 crore by 2027.
