L&T Secures Significant Power and Distribution Orders in the Middle East

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced the acquisition of substantial orders for its power and distribution vertical in the Middle East. The noteworthy contracts have been clinched by the power transmission and distribution unit of L&T Construction.

L&T categorizes orders falling within the range of Rs 2,500 crore to Rs 5,000 crore as large orders, and the recently secured projects fall into this significant category. The company revealed that its power transmission and distribution business successfully bagged key orders, further strengthening its presence in the region.

In the United Arab Emirates, L&T’s business has landed an extensive order encompassing engineering, supply, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of a substation. The scope extends to include associated components such as transformers, reactors, and substation control and monitoring systems.

Meanwhile, in Kuwait, the power transmission and distribution business of L&T has emerged victorious with an order to establish overhead transmission lines, coupled with interconnected underground cables. This expansive transmission segment, spanning over 100 km, is poised to play a crucial role in both power evacuation and generation processes.
