Schools in Noida and Greater Noida Shut Due to Cold Wave and Dense Fog
Responding to the prevailing cold wave and dense fog, the Gautam Buddh Nagar administration has directed all schools in Noida and Greater Noida to grant holidays to students up to Class 8 until January 14.
“In adherence to District Magistrate Maneesh Kumar Verma’s directives, considering the dense fog and severe cold conditions, all board-affiliated schools (CBSE/ICSE IB, UP Board, and others) operating in Gautam Buddh Nagar district, from Class nursery to 8, will remain closed until January 14,” the official statement declared.
The order, issued by District Basic Education Officer Rahul Panwar, is mandatory for all schools recognized by the state board, CBSE, ICSE, IB, and other educational bodies.
“The order should be strictly followed,” emphasized Panwar.
This decision comes as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issues a cold wave and fog warning for western Uttar Pradesh, encompassing the Gautam Buddh Nagar region.
