Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024 Sees Record Investment Commitments

The tenth edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024 concluded with a remarkable milestone as 41,299 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) were inked for projects valued at Rs 26.33 lakh crore. Gujarat achieved a significant feat, surpassing Rs 45 lakh crore in investment commitments across 98,540 projects, as announced by the official handle of the summit on Friday evening. In 2022, due to the Covid pandemic, the summit was postponed, but that year saw MoUs for 57,241 projects with investments totaling Rs 18.87 lakh crore.

A substantial portion of the MoUs focused on emerging sectors, including semi-conductors, e-mobility, green hydrogen, and renewable energy. The three-day summit, hosting 61,000 delegates from 140 countries, came to a close with 35 countries partnering for the event, and a total of 1.32 lakh registrations for participation.

During the valedictory session, Union Home Minister Amit Shah reassured investors, stating, “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel, Gujarat will consistently deliver.” Shah emphasized the summit’s role as a platform for ideas, innovations, and attracting investments, benefiting not just Gujarat but the entire country’s economy.

Shah also encouraged Gujarati industrialists to consider expansion plans in northern India, particularly in Kashmir, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to bring Kashmir into the mainstream and foster its development. Earlier in the day, Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Kashmir, urged delegates to explore investment opportunities in the Union Territory, emphasizing that investing in Jammu and Kashmir translates to investing in India’s unity and integrity.
