Protesters Hurl Soup at Mona Lisa’s Bullet-Proof Glass in Demands for Healthy Food Rights

In an unusual demonstration at the Louvre museum in Paris on Sunday, two protesters threw soup at the bullet-proof glass protecting Leonardo da Vinci’s iconic “Mona Lisa.” The act was carried out in a demand for the right to “healthy and sustainable food,” witnessed by an AFP journalist.

The two women, who threw red and orange soup onto the protective glass, drew gasps from the crowd surrounding the renowned painting. In a provocative stance, they questioned, “What is more important? Art or the right to healthy and sustainable food?” while standing in front of the smiling lady.

The protesters continued their message, declaring, “Your agricultural system is sick. Our farmers are dying at work.” The incident brought a moment of disruption to the usually serene surroundings of the museum, sparking conversations about the intersection of art, agriculture, and societal concerns.
