India clinches T20 Series 3-0 against Afghanistan in double Super Over drama

In a nail-biting encounter on Wednesday, India emerged victorious against Afghanistan in the third T20 International after an intense double super over showdown. Both teams concluded their innings with a total of 212 runs. India matched Afghanistan’s score of 16 in the first super over, extending the match further. However, in the second super over, Rohit Sharma’s squad secured the win by taking two crucial wickets through Ravi Bishnoi, restricting the visitors to 12 runs.

Earlier in the match, India, led by captain Rohit Sharma’s unbeaten 121 and Rinku Singh’s quickfire 69 off 39 balls, made a remarkable recovery after a shaky start at 22 for four in the fifth over. Afghanistan, in response, also reached a total of 212, with Gulbadin Naib contributing significantly with a 55-run innings off 23 balls.

Fareed Ahmad Malik stood out as Afghanistan’s most successful bowler, ending with impressive figures of 3/20, despite the challenges posed by Rohit and Rinku. With this thrilling victory, India secured the T20 series with a clean sweep, winning all three matches and taking the series 3-0.
